The Russian Imperial Stout is a heavy variety of stout beer whose color makes Brezhnev's eyebrows pale in comparison. The brew’s name refers to the fact that Russian Tsar Peter was so fond of this style of beer that he had it imported specially for him from London during his reign.

This Russian Imperial Stout delivers a very complex roasted taste and aroma with notes of bitter chocolate, coffee, and caramel. The aftertaste is again a strong malty roast with hints of licorice. The Russian Imperial Stout Vandekelder has a gravity of 21° Plato and an alcohol content of 9°. This is a top-fermented beer, with refermentation in the bottle and best enjoyed at cellar temperature. Not coincidentally Vandekelder.
